Dell today announced the launch of the Dell Streak, a carbon black Android1.6 based tablet with a 5-inch display in Indian market in association with Qualcomm and Tata DOCOM.
The Dell Streak is a full-function 3G phone with IM and SMS/text capabilities, plus you can take photos for sharing using the rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash. It is also integrated with real-time Facebook and Flickr upload abilities which will help one to put your photo or video online in no time.
Dell Streak has a spacious 5-inch screen with a resolution of 480×800 and 16M color output which is ideal for experiencing thousands of Android Market widgets, games and applications, all without squinting or compromising portability. It comes with front-and-back cameras capture photos and videos on the fly with 5 mega pixel resolution.The Dell Streak houses 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor along with 512MB ROM and 512MB SDRAM. For the shutterbugs, Streak carries a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with dual LED flash and a VGA front facing camera. A video chat function, to make the best of front facing VGA video camera, is on the anvil. The tablet will also have 2GB internal storage that is meant only for file system and OS.

The one thing we aren't sure about is whether the Streak will offer turn-by-turn directions with Street View through Google Maps app in India.
Tata DoCoMo Post Paid account holders will get 500MB free per month data usage for the first six months. Hopefully, when 3G is launched in India, more users would be able to enjoy faster mobile web on the tablet. Dell is considering 7-inch and 10-inch tablet computers as well. The Dell Streak would be available for pre-booking at Dell Exclusive Stores, Tata DoCoMo Dive In Centers and authorized retailers.
